What's New in HYAS Protect!
Enhanced Content Filtering Categories (Full Availability) IMPROVEMENT
Earlier this month, HYAS released our significantly improved categorization to a limited number of Clients. Now, ALL HYAS’ Clients can reap the benefits. See below for notes from our last release detailing the improvements:
HYAS Protect now features significantly improved categorization accuracy, completeness, and relevancy. This includes the addition of several new categories such as ‘Malicious’, ‘Aggressive’, and ‘Criminal Activity’. Although only available on a limited basis right now, all Clients will reap the benefits very soon!
Benefits:
Greater Security: With more accurate and relevant categories, clients can more effectively identify and block malicious activities, protecting their users and networks from threats.
Better Traffic Management: Accurate categorization allows for more precise traffic filtering and control, ensuring that legitimate traffic is allowed while harmful traffic is blocked.
Reduced Administrative Burden: With fewer mislabeled or uncategorized domains, clients can spend less time manually correcting categorization errors, leading to more efficient and streamlined operations.
Agent - MacOS Feature Parity with Windows v2.2.8 IMPROVEMENT
The MacOS Agent now benefits from the same features released with Windows Agent v2.2.6 and v2.2.7. Agent v2.2.8 for Mac now allows for uninstallation via the Agent console, temporary bypass, in-place updating and auto-uninstall of older Agent versions. See here and here for previous release notes.
Please note that in-place updating to a newer version is only possible if you have Agent version v2.2.7 or later.

Improved Management, Flexibility, and Maintenance:
Simplified Uninstallation: Admins can easily uninstall the agent directly from the console, streamlining the process and reducing the need for manual intervention.
Temporary Bypass: Provides greater flexibility for troubleshooting or performing tasks that may be hindered by the agent’s protections.
Seamless Updates: In-place updating ensures a smoother and more efficient update process, while auto-uninstall of older versions reduces clutter and maintains up-to-date software.
Agent - Installation Directory Relocation v2.2.8 IMPROVEMENT
Agent installations on Windows machines now follow a more common installation path. Configuration files are stored in %ProgramData%\HYAS\Protect\ and executable files are deployed to the %ProgramFiles%\HYAS\Protect\ directory.
Benefits:
Windows Agent installations now follow standardized directories, aligning with common guidelines for software installations, ensuring easy management and location of the Agent.
