What's New in HYAS Protect!

Partner Admin Role NEW

HYAS Protect introduces a new Partner Admin role, empowering partners and resellers to efficiently manage MSSPs, organizations, and users within their client base. With scoped administrative permissions and a hierarchical interface, partners and resellers can now better support and scale their operations with MSSPs.

Benefits:

  • Streamlined MSSP Management: Resellers & Partners can now create, view, and modify MSSPs, organizations, and users within their parent MSSP.

  • Tailored Administrative Tools: The Partner Admin role offers SuperAdmin-like capabilities, scoped specifically for resellers’ MSSP clients.

  • Enhanced Hierarchical Clarity: The new Partners > MSSPs > Organizations view simplifies navigation and improves visibility.

Organizational Policy Inheritance NEW

We’ve made it easier for MSSPs to centrally manage policies across their organizations. A new inheritance system allows client organizations to inherit Custom Lists, and Category settings from their MSSP while retaining local flexibility when permitted.

Benefits:

  • Simplified management of shared security settings for MSSPs.

  • Clear visibility of inherited settings for client organizations.

  • Granular control over inheritance, ensuring flexibility when needed.

Agent Enhancements - v2.2.11 IMPROVEMENT

This release brings enhanced functionality to the HYAS Protect Agent for Mac and Windows devices. Updates include:

Auto-Restart for Unexpected Failures (Windows):

The Agent now automatically restarts if it unexpectedly fails on Windows devices, ensuring continuous protection and minimizing downtime. This improvement brings Windows functionality in line with macOS, enhancing reliability and reducing the need for manual intervention.

Dynamic Device Name Synchronization:

When a device’s name is updated, the “Manage Agent” tab in the Admin Portal now automatically reflects the new name. This eliminates duplicate entries, ensuring accurate and up-to-date device tracking, which simplifies asset management for administrators.

Option to Disable Agent on Local Networks:

Organizations can now configure the Agent to disable itself when connected to a local network. This allows for seamless integration with local DNS infrastructure while still maintaining the protection of the HYAS Protect Agent on external networks, offering greater flexibility without compromising security.

15-Minute Disable:

Administrators can temporarily disable an Agent for 15 minutes, allowing for short-term adjustments or troubleshooting. After the set time, the Agent automatically re-enables, ensuring security remains intact without requiring manual reactivation.

Benefits:

  • Increased Reliability: Automatic recovery features ensure consistent performance and minimize disruptions.

  • Streamlined Management: Simplified processes save time and reduce administrative effort.

  • Enhanced Flexibility: Configurable options adapt to diverse environments without compromising security.

  • Improved Security Assurance: Temporary adjustments and automated safeguards maintain strong protection at all times.

Executive Reporting Improvements IMPROVEMENT

HYAS Protect’s Executive Reporting introduces expanded metrics and visually enhanced charts, providing deeper insights into your organization’s security posture. The updated reporting offers clear, actionable data across key security metrics, enabling organizations to identify trends, mitigate vulnerabilities, and optimize defenses. Updated charts within the report include:

  • Protection Events by Event Type: A detailed breakdown of security events across the organization.

  • Top 10 Riskiest Users: Identify users with the highest security or policy blocks for targeted action.

  • Total Blocks by Threats: A comparison of blocked threats, highlighting organizational priorities.

  • Top 10 Most Blocks by Category: Insights into the most frequently blocked categories.

  • Top 10 Most Blocked Domains: Understand domain-based threats with detailed block data.

  • Total Queries: View organization-wide DNS activity and identify query trends.

  • Top 10 Most Queried Domains: Analyze the domains driving the highest query activity.

  • Top 10 DNS Answers by Country: Geographic insights into DNS activity across the globe.

New reports are generated monthly, with the first report available on February 1st, covering data from January.

Benefits:

  • Actionable Insights: Empower decision-makers to track trends and optimize security measures effectively.

  • Enhanced Clarity: Simplified visualizations make complex data easy to understand.

  • Improved Analysis: Month-over-month comparisons highlight trends and organizational progress over time.

Favicons in Logs View IMPROVEMENT

The Logs View in HYAS Protect now displays site favicons alongside FQDNs, providing a faster and more intuitive log analysis experience.

Benefits:

  • Improved Efficiency: Quickly recognize sites at a glance without needing to read through domain names.

  • Streamlined Workflow: Visual cues reduce cognitive load, making log analysis faster and more intuitive.

  • Seamless Integration: Favicons appear naturally alongside FQDNs without disrupting existing UI layouts.

Unified Source Network and Agent Naming IMPROVEMENT

We’ve streamlined the naming conventions across the HYAS Protect platform to deliver a more consistent and intuitive user experience. The agent is now uniformly referred to as the HYAS Protect Agent, eliminating all references to "Roaming Agent." Similarly, the term "Source Network" has replaced "Corp Network" across all platform components. These updates are applied throughout the platform, including the Executive Dashboard, ensuring clarity and consistency in terminology.

Benefits:

  • Improved Clarity: Consistent naming ensures a more intuitive user experience.

  • Streamlined Reporting: Unified terminology eliminates confusion in understanding data.
